Alec Empire remixes "Mann gegen Mann"

November 25, 2005

The Rosenrot single isn't even out yet (pre-order now), but the website for Digital Hardcore Recordings has posted that Alec Empire has done a remix for the next single, Mann gegen Mann. As previously reported, it is possible that Mann gegen Mann will be released in the UK instead of the Rosenrot single, but this remains to be seen. Says Alec about the mix, "It's a hard track...it required a hard remix!". Alec Empire contributed a remixe to the Amerika single and is best known for his time as frontman of Atari Teenage Riot.

Pictures from the set of the new video

November 13, 2005

Rammstein filmed their new video, Rosenrot, close to Brasov in Romania on November 13, 2005. Pictures of the band from the set are in the gallery!

Update: The management has now requested that these pictures be removed from my site and all others, including Rammstein.ro. They have therefore been removed.

November 11, 2005

In Germany, Rammstein has beaten out Robbie Williams for the number one spot in the album charts with Rosenrot, which is already platinum! In Austria and Finland, the new album has made it to number one as well. In Sweden, Denmark, and Switzerland it is number two and it's number four in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

Tracklisting and release date for Rosenrot (single)

November 10, 2005

The next Rammstein single from their latest album Rosenrot is the song of the same name. Rosenrot, the single, will be released on December 9, 2005 and will contain the following tracks:

  1. Rosenrot - Single Version (03:47)
  2. Rosenrot - The Tweaker Remix by Chris Vrenna (04:34)
  3. Rosenrot - Northern Lite Remix by Northern Lite (04:45)
  4. Rosenrot - 3AM At Cosy Remix by Jagz Kooner (04:50)

For those of you who don't know, Chris Vrenna has previously worked with Trent Reznor in Nine Inch Nails, as well as Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, The Smashing Pumpkins and others. Northern Lite is a German band from the city of Erfurt who describe their music as "neo pop". Jagz Kooner is a UK-born producer who has worked with the Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream and Garbage.

Universal UK has apparently confirmed that Rosenrot will be the international single, but the UK will get Mann gegen Mann instead. If this is true, it is as of yet unknown when the Mann gegen Mann single will be released in the UK or elsewhere, however Flake said that it will be released in January 2006 in the recent Rammstein chat.

"Tod nach Noten"

November 9, 2005

For those of you wondering about the inscription included inside of Rammstein's latest album Rosenrot, it is part of the poem "Tod nach Noten" (Death by Notes) by Till Lindemann. It's rather odd, but here is a translation:

Death by Notes
Born in hardship
And placed by a sow
Dooms the teats
Milk in both ears
Offence so openly given
Aged in perishability
Thank death, not new born

The full poem is included in Till's book of poems, Messer.

New movie with Till

November 8, 2005

Till plays an animal-rights activist in an upcoming movie called Vinzent. The release is planned for next year, though it was actually filmed in 2004. Shots from the film (including a few with Till) can be viewed on the official site, as well as a trailer.

This is not the first time that Till has been in a movie. He briefly appeared in Pola X (1999) and xXx (2002). In 2003 he had his first real role in the children's film Amundsen der Pinguin and played the part of a "bad guy" who wanted to steal a penguin because it knew the location of lost treasure.

MTV EMA acceptance speech

November 4, 2005

You can now view Rammstein's acceptance speech from last night's MTV Europe Music Awards in the video section. For those that do not speak German, here is the translation: "Hello, this is Rammstein. We want to thank you for the MTV award. So, thanks to all MTV viewers that voted for us the Best German Act on MTV and we'll see you soon! Thank you very much . . . It was about time!"

Thanks to: fikusz.

November 3, 2005

Rammstein have just won the MTV Europe music award for "Best German Act", beating out Beatsteaks, Fettes Brot, Silbermond, and Wir Sind Helden! They weren't there in person but they accepted the award via a pre-recorded video.

Flake chat log: DVD information and more

November 2, 2005

The Rammstein chat with Flake went into overtime (more than a half hour longer than scheduled) with some interesting answers! Flake revealed that there is an all-German version of "Stirb nicht vor mir" that Bobo sings and he would like to release it. He finds the version on the album embarrassing. The new live DVD will contain scenes from Japan, Birmingham, Manchester and London, with the majority coming from Nimes in France. The black makeup they use on stage is actually instant coffee. The band was naked for the Mann gegen Mann video!

For this and much more, check out the transcript in the press section!
