More on the official site

April 30, 2002

As of today, the following message can be seen at Rammstein.com:

Dear Rammstein fans,

Translated by me:

Dear Rammstein fans,

To all fans: our website is momentarily not reachable.

Unfortunately, we could no longer agree on a sensible collaboration with the record company Motor Music / Universal. Therefore, we think it smart to look around for alternatives as fast as possible.

You will find all important information among other things on numerous well maintained fan sites such as, for example, www.herzeleid.com. Furthermore, our merchandising is obtainable under www.rammsteinshop.de.

Official site

April 19, 2002

This e-mail was sent to members of the fanarea, explaining the problems that the official site is facing:

Dear Rammstein fans,

as you might have already noticed, our webpage and the Fanarea are no longer
accessable.
Unfortunately, we could not come to an agreement with the Record Company
Motor Music, which was responsible for hosting and management of the page so
far, regarding constructive future cooperation and updating of the page.
To exert pressure on us, the page was closed.
Therefore, we decided to look for alternatives as soon as possible. You can
find all relevant information on well-updated fanpages such as
www.herzeleid.com.
The Fanarea will be reconstructed with its own domain shortly.
We will send all further information via mail to you and hope for your
understanding.

Sincerely,

Antje
(Fanarea)

Very nice that they mentioned my site! Hopefully I don't see a huge increase in traffic because my server might not be able to take it ;)

April 13, 2002

I had a great time in Germany and got home yesterday after my long flight (15 hours or so total). I'm still catching up and I have homework to do, but I will try to get updates done as soon as I can. If you're interested, I should have a full report on the Megaherz concerts with pictures up soon at Megaherz.com.

April Fool's

April 1, 2002

No, Herzeleid.com was not hacked and no, the front page was not serious. Today was April Fool's day for those of you unaware of what the first day of April is. For the third year in a row, Herzeleid.com has pulled a prank on its visitors. The first claimed that Rammstein had broken up. The second said that Mutter had been pushed back to April 31st to include a song called "Nur dreißig". The song's name means "Only thirty", and there are only thirty days in April.

Anyway, I hope at least some of you got the humor. The Backstreet Boys page has been archived for your viewing (dis)pleasure. I got 42 e-mails about this...come on guys, it wasn't that hard to figure out! ;-)

Herzeleid.com on MTV Germany

April 1, 2002

MTV Germany ran a short segment which mentioned Herzeleid.com today. Here's my translation of what was said:

Lots new this week in the webcharts. Mutter...that makes me think of my mine, oh well, greetings...but "Mutter" is certainly the slowest track from Rammstein's album of the same name. It reminds me a bit of "Seemann", a song from the "Live aus Berlin" DVD, a thing you guys should definitely see, by the way. The end is classic: Flake's in a dinghy and has himself carried over the whole crowd. What you don't see on the DVD is that one time there was a concert where he almost broke his neck. That is, as he was coming back with the boat, he somehow fell down with his back on the railing. But, Flake should tell that himself sometime if we have him here as a guest.

Anyway, you can order the DVD for yourselves at www.herzeleid.com, and there's also a new book about the band, as well as a "Tribute to..." album with various artists. But first, the original now: Rammstein, your number 5...here you go!
